Hyderabad based artist Susheel Kumar Gotla was always curious to know more about Mahatma Gandhi. He learned about Mahatma during his childhood days and inspired by Mahatma after reading Gandhi’s Autobiography. Susheel started drawing and painting Gandhi in his imaginary illustrations in an abstract way, mostly in modern contemporary style.The artist applied to join an International fellowship program on Peace and Nonviolence organised jointly by Mahatma Gandhi Mission University Aurangabad,Sabarmati Ashram, Sevagram Ashram and Gujarat Vidyapeeth. He also came to know about the fact that Mahatma Gandhi founded Sevagram Ashram in Wardha Maharashtra. Finally susheel was awarded with International fellowship program on peace and non violence from Sevagram Ashram in collaboration with MGM University Aurangabad, Gujarat Vidyapeeth and Sabarmati Ashram Ahmedabad Gujarat. After obtaining fellowship award Susheel inspired by visiting Sevagram Ashram, and Sabarmati Ashram and decided to paint Mahatma Gandhi portraits in best possible way.
